Cajun Blackened Fish
Louisiana is where the spicy and tasty Cajun Blackened Fish dish comes from. A strong Cajun seasoning mix is used to coat the fish, which is then seared in a hot skillet until the outside is black and the inside is soft. This dish is great for seafood lovers who like spicy food.
Ingredients:
- 4 fish fillets such as redfish, snapper, or catfish
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon white pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions:
Warm up a cast-iron pan over high heat until its very hot
Put thyme, oregano, cayenne pepper, black pepper, white pepper, thyme, and salt in a small bowl
Mix these spices together to make the Cajun seasoning
First, use melted butter to cover both sides of each fish fillet
Then, cover each fillet well with the Cajun seasoning mix
Carefully put the fish fillets in the hot pan
Cook for two to three minutes on each side, or until they are blackened and fully cooked
Serve right away with lemon wedges
